January 19, 2004: A Small Update
Well, I've been continuing to work on Deathball. I also made 2 patches for Seven Bullets. Most importantly for this website, I realized that I didn't have a spot that noted what mod teams I have worked on. Because I did not feel like revising every webpage, I just shoved the information in the "Other mods" area. Enjoy! December 6, 2004: Seven Bullets ReleasedThe Single Player UT Modification I've been working on, Seven Bullets was released a few days ago. Get it at the Team Phalanx website. Seven Bullets has also been reviewed by UnrealSP.org, where it received an 89%. August 1, 2004: FINALLY ONLINEWell, it took forever, but I finally got my site fully uploaded and running. Check it out! In other news, my Seven Bullets work is officially done. All that is needed now is for the show mappers to finish. :p I've also been working on Deathball, specificially DBWarfare. July 19, 2004: ANEW HOME & A NEW DESIGNThe former administrator of my site, Hogman, could no longer continue to provide hosting. Fortunately, Beyondunreal graciously offered me server space. Note that you can continue using http://www.usaar33.com to access this site. Anyhow, I decided it was time to remove the excessive "133tness" that The Renegade Master had originally designed the website with. I kept the basic style (which I have him to think for), but the frames and java menu are now history. Many pages have also been updated to improve the writing in general. I also decided to try to keep this website somewhat active (note that I haven't updated in almost 21 months). What have I been doing since the latest update? I have been on the Deathball (UT2003) team almost since its incarnation. The mod has won the Best Mod award in Phase I of the Make Something Unreal Contest , received 2nd Place for Best Non-FPS mod in Phase ][ and is a Finalist in Phase ]|[ (Winners pending). I've also been working on Seven Bullets , a mod by Team Phalanx . Oh ya, I've finally updated the downloads page to cover all my current mods. I also plan to "eventually" get Demo Manager 3.0 done, but seeing as how I'm starting university next month, that may be a tad hard. November 4, 2002:UNREAL TOURNAMENT DEMO MANAGER 3.0 BETA RELEASED Features:
-Pause demo playbacks
-Version mismatch checking before playing demos -much, much more. A cool shot of the downloader:
Whatever.. download the file HERE ! On a side note, this WILL be ported to Unreal Tournament 2003 when 1) Demo playback works 2) UWindows 2.0 is added August 15, 2002: Anew mod? I got bored as I was trying to code udemo 3.0 (which is coming along nicely). I had an urge to play unreal... but I liked the ONP HUD more + the footstep sounds. So I wrote this singleplayer mutator... Unreal: Enhanced. It basically adds Operation: Na Pali features to unreal (under oldskool that is). Enjoy! (requires ONP obviously): Download here June 4, 2002:OPERERATION: NA PALI RELEASED! Ya, its good. With over 38 maps and tons of new features and simply being one of the best mods ever created, there is no way to resist! As you can no doubt guess, I did the 20,000 lines or so of coding for it... Now I can probably finish Demo Manager 3.0 or something like that :p January 30, 2002:Client-Side Chat Log Released! This powerful mod will create HTML message logs client-side! It is rather similar to BDBChatLog. The picture below says enough (click for an enlarged image): Here are some example HTML files created by the chat logger. Note that the pickup and death messages were "1337ified" on my own computer. Yours will look normal.. don't worry :). DeathMatch Log (w/ game summary) Get it HERE ! Please note that this mod requires Unreal Tournament versions 432 or 436 running on a WNIDOWS based computer. If you are interested in porting the mod to another OS, please contact me at UsAaR33@yahoo.com . I would like to thank again BDB for allowing me to use his HTML formatting code and Mongo for helping me so much with the C++ code. Without them, this mod wuold never have been released. January 19, 2002:Welcome to www.UsAaR33.com Since Unreality's hosting services are gone, I had to move my site. Here it is now. I would like to thank HogMan for hosting my site ad-free, and on top of that, purchasing my domain name. His generosity is highly appreciated. Well, explore around. I have a mod coming out later today :) I've also removed some really old news and fixed up links. Please note that all websites should update their URLs to point to http://www.usaar33.com Thanks! November 25, 2001:Unreal Tournament Demo Manager 2.0!!!!!! The long awaited release has come! Just click HERE to download it and be sure to visit the UDEMO forums . Here are some of the major new features:
-Demo Analyzer: This lists every file that you need to play the demo. Never again will there be probems with missing file demo crashes. On top of that, it tells the mapname and the type of demo (client or recorded server-side on a dedicated server).
-Update: There was a bug found where renaming a demo crashed UT. The Demo Manager has been upgraded to 2.01. Zip file name has stayed the same so other sites can link to it. Here is a quick screenshot of the new interface:
September 9, 2001:OldSkool 2.39! Bugs were discovered in OldSkool 2.38 do to the release of Operation: Na Pali. The patch fixes the following problems: -Permanent decals crashing when loading a game. -Saves not working (when starting an SP game, your savepath will now be automatically modified). Note that this version is 100% net compatible with OldSkool 2.38. Snag the patch here . Also, if you got the Operation: Na Pali demo, you can get its patch (including OldSkool Amp'd 2.39) here . In both cases, extract all files to the unrealtournament\system directory. BTW, 2 more servers have been added to the Valhalla Avatar servers list, bringing a grand total of 36 servers! Oh yes, be sure to visit the forums! September 8, 2001:Any other oldSkool problems? Problem 1: I can't load save games! An error appears that UT cannot load ".." Solution: UMODS have problems sometimes. Please do the following: Open unrealtournament.ini, find the line that says savepath=../Save and make it SavePath=..\Save (for macs: Savepath=:Save). Problem 2: Upon loading a save, UT crashes with an error about decals! Solution: This is from code that attempts to create decals again when loading saves. It seems it will occasionally fail. Simply disable permanent decals before loading a save and then feel free to reactivate it. Oh and by the way, the Operation: Na Pali demo was released! Get it at Team Vortex 's site! August 26, 2001:OldSkool problems? If you have problems saving your game under oldskool, please do the following: Open unrealtournament.ini Find the line that says savepath=../Save Change it to: ..\Save Appearently, the UMOD is not working for everyone.' Also I had to reupload olroot.u I have it conformed to older versions, which screws co-op users. If you plan to play on a co-op server/run one, please download this file and overwrite the old olroot.u in the system directory. It is merely a hex edited version of oldskool 2.38. BTW, there is now a co-op server, run by Wes ! The IP is 209.73.227.47:7777 Have fun! August 25, 2001:VALHALLA AVATAR BETA 2 (Version 0.9) RELEASED! A new version of the revolutionary Unreal Tournament mod has been released! Valhalla Avatar allows clients to use any model, skin, or voicepack on a server. Features include: -Support for all voicepacks, skins, and an overwhelming majority of player models. -Cheat protection (especially skin cheats) that are more reliable than Epic's. -Clients can see what models other players intend to use (and whether it is installed on their computer). -Gestures (taunts) may be disabled server AND client side. -Less information is replicated and thus lag should be decreased (although it will probably not be noticable). This version is publically available. Please go to the Valhalla Avatar download section. If you have java disabled, simply click here. Note that it will only run on dedicated servers. For a list of servers that have VA, click here . August 22, 2001: /mesux0rz Appearently, I left out the osxbackground changer hack in the main zip file. If you already downloaded oldskool, get the file here and extract it to unrealtournament\system Be sure that if you download the main osx package (which has some backgrounds) that you do NOT overwrite that .u file, or else background support will not work. August 20, 2001:OLDSKOOL AMP'D 2.38 PATCH! This patch is only needed if you plan on playing co-op. Or you are really like decals ;P Normal DM netcode has not been broken. This patch adds the following: -Fixes permanent decals not working. -Adds shadows to creatures in co-op. -Fixes masking bugs in co-op. -Fixes skaarj projectile texture in co-op. Snag the patch HERE ! Extact all files to the system subdirectory of UT. BTW, in case you have java disabled, the main file page for oldskool is Here . August 19, 2001:OLDSKOOL AMP'D 2.35 PATCH! There were some critical bugs in OSA 2.3 (thanks DavidM!). This fixes the following problems: -Skaarj see-through bugs fixed -Flak Shell decal now shows -Permanent carcasses now affect gibs -New option: Permanent decals! Snag the patch HERE ! Extact all files to the system subdirectory of UT. August 17, 2001:OLDSKOOL AMP'D 2.3 RELEASED! The latest version of OldSkool Amp'd has been released. Get it in the files->main section. Be sure to visit the forum as well. The most dominant addition is massive amount of skins, created by the Real CTF team and Psychic_313. Yet, the codebase has many improvements as well. Among the bugfixes/additions, since the oldskool that was included in Legacy: -The masking bug is gone for GOOD! -NEW Single Player Options! Auto-taunt, Pause on Save Game Load, Unreal Air Control, and the most important: PERMANENT CARCASSES! -The Vortex Riker game savebug, as well as the krall carcass collision cylinder bug are gone. -BLOOD DECALS and fog-zone decal support. -Save games now save current music track, as well as singleplayer weapons options. Note that only the former is saved on old saves. Also, the mod, Panic, should now be able to work through oldskool. -Key binding is now through the main menu. The menu is also now scrollable for lower resolutions. -Music INT's included for Return to Na Pali and Deus Ex. -Network code rewritten (and thus compatibility has been broken), but weapons work much better know (notably the automag, dispersion pistol, and eightball). -Quadshot tweaked. As you can see, there are many new skins, created by Psychic_313 , present, as well as more options in the menus. June 25, 2001: Signup for Valhalla Avatar BETA TESTING NOW! Valhalla Avatar 0.8 BETA is ready for beta testing. It is a mod that will allow you to use any model, skin, or voicepack on a server. Whether or not the server has them installed has become irrelevant. For more information, click on the Valhalla Avatar link in the left frame. If you are an admin who wishes to install Valhalla Avatar, simply email me at usaar33@yahoo.com with the following information: -Server Name -Server IP address -Gametype -Any mutators running -Whether your server is using an install from the UT CD or the downloadable dedicated server pack. You will receive the file shortly afterward. There are also now forums for both OldSkool and Valhalla Avatar! They have been hosted by the generous Dr SiN (yes, it is an oxymoron). The link to the oldskool forum can be found in the about menu. The VA link should be obvious... And I guess there was no oldskool amp'd released June 8th. Oh well, I'll get it out one of these days....... June 6, 2001: WaterWar Released! New OldSkool Amp'd release on Friday! Wow, I haven't written a mutator in a long time :D This mutator floods the entire map and adds fish and SCUBA gear, depending on options. You can also alter player swimming speed as normal speed can be a little slow :D Here's a nice shot of it in action: Download it HERE ! -OldSkool Amp'd 2.20 shall be relased on Friday. I am apprehensive about releasing it before Enhanced UT, but I am sick of people having problems with the EXE file. This WILL be the last version that is standalone. Future OldSkool Amp'ds will be part of Enhanced UT. Return to Na Pali support will come afterwards. -A Valhalla Avatar beta will hopefully be tested on several servers within a week or two. Unfortunately, I do have several major exams coming up :( May 25, 2001: UnrealTournament Demo Manager Released! This mod is basically a utility for demos. It adds the following things to UT:
-An easy to-use, quickly loading, in-game browser of demos. You can easily choose to play any demo found in your system directory.
Here is a shot of the interface:
Download it HERE ! Note that it will ONLY run on a windows based computer running Unreal Tournament version 432 or HIGHER. Update: At 10:30 PM PDT today, I uploaded version 1.01. It fixes a tiny menu bug with deleting and renaming demos. The bug from 1.00 isn't too dangerous, so you should be able to get by without updating. However, I would still recommend redownloading. (its only 35k :D) April 11, 2001:Little Tweaker Released! It is what nosmoke has become (only now you can not actually hide this smoke, for 40% of the UT community feels this is cheating). This little proggie allows specific actor tweaking. A client side mod (CSHP does not falsely recognize it as a cheat), it can be said to be the enhanced and 100% legal version of nosmoke. (I have asked four people to evaluate it, and all said its use is not cheating). What it can do: 1. Force Smoke to always be the Low-Detail version. Also happens to be less obscuring. 2. Hide Minigun shellcases. 3. Force the Unreal I teleport effect, rather than the UT one. 4. Force blood to be green. 5. Modify gore levels. You can select no blood/gibs, normal levels, sparks (gibs become sparks as well as blood), and more blood. Used correctly, it can truly help FPS. Download it HERE ! April 10, 2001: NewDesign! Well, like the new design? It was made by my good DeusEx Friend, TheRenegadeMaster, lead designer of DXSoccer and coder for MM , both new DeusEx Mods in the making.. So anyway, what has happened in the previous 2 months? Legacy is complete! It is truly a success. Just check out this review ! Now what is coming next from UsAaR33? NoSmoke : OK, not a BIG thing. It is just a tiny mod, but it is being hit with huge controversy over its ethics (i.e. whether it is a cheat or not). I will release it (it is 100% complete at this time) based on the results of this poll . So please vote for what you feel! We don't want a cheat released, or a tweak not known... Valhalla Avatar : This is my next big mod. Now what is Valhalla Avatar?
The concept of Valhalla Avatar is the server not needing a model or skin installed for clients to use it in a netgame. Clients with a player's model/skin installed will see that player's. If not, a selected default will display instead.
It may sound simple, yet in reality is very complex, due to the massive amount of overloading animation and sound functions required. (If you have no idea what I just said, do not worry :P). OldSkool Amp'd: Yes, there will be a OldSkool Amp'd 3.0. A good friend of mine, Psychic_313 , is working on Enhanced UT. OldSkool's UT menu enhancements were only the beginning.... And there will eventually be Return to Na Pali support for OldSkool Amp'd. That may mean a week, a month, or a year. But there WILL be. PCGamer Olympics: I helped finish up the programming for it. As for the map itself (by EzKeel ), there are ten "events" which test your skills with various weapons. Oh and there is a secret event as well :P It serves as great practice as well. Look for it in your next PCGamer. Or maybe the one after. Well, it will be on the CD EVENTUALLY! Well, hopefully, I'll actually have something to post in the near future... |
